Star Fox 64 3D

Once again the Big N has decided to dust off a great masterpiece of the past to bolster its lineup for the new console arrived Portable 3DS, so after Zelda and Kid Icarus coming Starfox 64 re-mastered and enriched with new 3D features from the original Nintendo 64. The feature that impressed more, unlike what you might believe, it was not the graphics, which does not show a particular relatively little attention despite missing the exit, but the multiplayer mode and the control system, with its strengths and defects.

Most of the missions take place in a stage shift and our particular attention at this juncture will be to eliminate enemies that appear between us and the end of the level or the clash with the boss. Not only that, during various battles we must also be able to avoid the various buildings in the layer, such as buildings and similar buildings, or ships much larger than ours. At a time when we will face a boss recognize it immediately because, first of all, will be the only goal on the screen, and secondly we will offer a much larger space in which to unleash aerial duel. Will also change the strategy to be adopted will not be easy as down with the usual tactics used for normal enemies, but must be studied to better its operations, the timing of any attack and weaknesses and act accordingly.

From what we've seen and observed during the exhibition in Los Angeles, Nintendo has implemented two control modes: one, very classic, in which we drive our Airwing with the analog stick, and the second which will take advantage of motion control Based thanks to built-in gyro 3DS. Obviously, this control system is certainly one interesting feature, but as you wrote just above shows a defect, if not two, linked to the gyro: first of all we must place the console on a plan to allow a better calibration, just as happens for Wii Motion Plus, being able to tire the long player, but apparently this can be eliminated in the final version. Moreover, despite all the calibration process, the motion-based controls were not entirely satisfactory from the point of view of responsiveness from a purely technical point of view, namely using the gyro should move the console and in doing so you go to temporarily lose the 3D effect because the eye has to get used to the new angle, forcing the player to eventually opt for a more classic two-dimensional screen.

Surely that has attracted more public attention to the "new" adventure of Fox McCloud was the multiplayer component. The most curious and captivating is the fact that the 3DS, built through the camera, record and resume our face while we play against our opponents, in order to see us play constantly streaming to the above our ship, of course a similar focus will the other players. This nice addition is interesting for two reasons: on one hand we can easily identify the enemy to be destroyed because they do not have to go and find her Airwing in space, but we just look inside the box with his face from the console again, from ' else we will simply be the sheer pleasure of seeing in direct face of the enemy pilot shot down or filled with joy when he shot down our ship. But even here there is a little doubt because it is no online mode, then the faces that you see reproduced on the screen will be those of our friends that we both started in the space battles, probably in the same room.
